The Ribolla Gialla is one of the oldest vine varieties known in Friuli. It is peculiar to the eastern hill area bordering to Slovenia, where it has its origins since 1300. It was one of the favorite wines of nobles and of the Habsburg family. This wine is straw yellow in colour with golden reflections. It smells very fresh with notes of acacia flowers and chestnut honey. It tastes acidulous, fresh and lively, but nevertheless very full-bodied. Its aftertaste is lingering and has elegant hints of acacia honey.
